Who was here?

Feeling blue
Written at Friday, December 18, 2009 | back to top

The festive season is here and I can't help feeling sad and lonely when I see everyone else back home already with loved ones.

My plans for the holidays are working (at my minimal $9/hr rate - even on public holidays), studying for my mid-semester class test right after the break and also updating my CV for the PASS job application.

Somehow I can't avoid feeling a tinge of jealousy when I see all the love birds around me happily walking hand in hand, laughing and chatting with each other... Reminds me of the times when I was like that, just a few months ago but it seems like a distant past which I could vaguely remember. I knew it happened but it seems surreal because of the distance that separates us.

I feel helpless at times, feel bad for being so far away and yet I feel that I have to be here. Sometimes, I just have the urge to book a flight and go home just for a few days... But I know it's impossible and silly to do such a thing. Well, I'm a practical person and I wished I could be more easy-going. Sigh... Life is a challenge. I never knew I could be so emotionally weak. :P

Oh well.. enough a bout that... Just a few updates for my activities during the past week.

I went to Eastgardens to do some shopping because I felt so sien and stressed. So I went shopping-therapy and got a few stuff.

 A new shirt from tightrope - $10

Speaking of tightrope (one of the cheap clothing franchise in Sydney), something really funny happened there. When I was in the changing room, the people beside my cubical started screaming and running out. I was a bit scared when I heard them talking about some rat poking its nose into their cubical. I went out to have a look (with clothes of course) but didn't see anything. And after trying another garment, I decided it's better to just get out of there in case the rat came into my cubical. To make matters worse, there's no door to the cubical, just a curtain as the door. Haha... really funny experience. Later when I was paying for the clothes I heard from the cashier that it was just a baby mouse and they wanted to kill it. If I knew it was just a baby, I wouldn't have been so freaked out. I was just worried that I might have ran out naked if a big giant rat crawled into the fitting room! :P

Sports shorts from K-mart - $10

Straight legged jeans from Target - $15

Thanks to my bosses who gave me a $50 gift card, the stuff I bought from Target is free of charge. :) The jeans were a steal anyway cos the original price is actually $35 and all women's jeans prices were reduced to only $15 on the day. I also bought a black t-shift for $4 from tightrope for gym to go with my shorts. Haha, I'm lacking gym attire...

Besides all the clothes shopping I managed to grab some free groceries from Coles too because of the gift card. :)

Christmas-New Year break starts today! So happy holidays everyone hope you guys enjoy the celebration!
