Vinny's Pizza Maroubra
Written at Monday, November 16, 2009 | back to top

Back to my WINTER holiday post.. Yup... still continuing the previous holiday post even though it's already SUMMER now.

One fine winter day on the way to Eastgardens, we looked out of the window from the bus and saw a small pizza joint which was packed with patrons in Maroubra. So we decided to pick a day and go for it.

We actually stopped at Maroubra junction and walked all the way to the pizza place at the end of the street which was quite far because I doubted the availability of bus stops nearer to the shop and also under-estimated the distance of the shop from Maroubra junction. I think it took us about half an hour to reach the restaurant. Talk about burning calories before the meal.

I think the restaurant is a family owned business because of the small number of staff and the small seating area. It is a neat and cozy place with a bit of fancy decor. Quite pleasing... There were only 2 other tables occupied when we entered but I guess it's because it was a weeknight.

Brucchetta - Italian style bread with tomato and olives

Wood fire pizza straight from the oven

Seafood risotto with fresh prawns - I didn't quite like this dish

Overall the food was just okay because I personally don't really fancy Italian food. Hahaha.. But Kuan Lung just loves pizza so we had to try it. He say's it's good and different from those pizza joints we have back in Malaysia (ie: pizza hut, shakeys and dominos - which are really "junk food" pizzas).

Open wide! Candid shot of me

Payback time!

That night he kept trying to take pictures of me eating the food... No idea why. Good company and not-so-great food still equals a great night out!
