After a day of rest from the tiring trip to Blue Mountains, we went to Randwick to get some groceries and necessities before heading off to Maroubra to have a good look at the beach. Before that, we enjoyed a small cup of yogurt at the Frozen Yogurt shop in Randwick Plaza.
Passion fruit yogurt
Posing with the yogurt before rushing off to get some vitamins
The verdict? The yogurt was too thick and had a strong milky taste to it so it wasn't that good. Oh well, it's my first time eating from that shop anyway after getting some positive reviews from my friends.
It was really windy that day and chilly too so the beach was kinda deserted
The waves and white sand
Spent just a roughly 20 mins at Maroubra Beach before heading back home because it was starting to drizzle and I couldn't stand the wind anymore. So I hid in the shelter of the bus stop while Kuan Lung stood nearer to the sea to absorb the beauty of the beach.
Later that night, we went to Newtown after meeting up with Candy at Railway Square. However, we were too early and the restaurant, Thaipothong, was not opened yet. To make matters worse we didn't have a reservation. Haha. I actually went to Thaipothong for Yilyn's birthday in May and I fell in love with the Thai food there. It's so delicious!
While waiting for the restaurant to open, we just had a stroll along the streets of Newtown. Nothing much to see and we were too busy chatting with each other anyways.
So at 6 pm we finally entered the Restaurant and they ushered us to sit at a really long table that was actually reserved for a birthday party later at 8 pm. So we had ample time to eat.

Candy at the opposite side
For our entree we had chicken wrapped in pandan leaves
Quite good but I think the chicken was a tad though.
Thai green curry that Kuan Lung is addicted to
A duck dish that I can't recall the name
Good too! Had a nice balance of flavours - sour and sweet
The most special dish because it came on fire!
It's some kind of thai otak-otak. Just so-so because it was too watery
The food was great overall but we had to travel so far to enjoy it and it's a bit pricey too. The bill came up to roughly $60. However, the restaurant gives us gift vouchers that we can use at the souvenir shop that they have. So candy and me got some incense but we haven't use them up till today because we're too afraid that it might set the fire alarm off in our rooms. LOL.
Since we finished our dinner quite early, we just thought that we could hang out longer at a bar or something. So we went to Shark Hotel to play a game of pool. 3 of us shared a table and it was hilarious because none of us knew how to play properly. After roughly 30 or 40 minutes, we finally got all the balls into the hole and proceeded to get some drinks.
My really mild drink called sunset (I think)
Candy with her drink. I forgot what she got that day.
Kuan Lung had a shot of the strongest drink in the bar which he described as "very hot" when it goes down his throat. Me, being a really light drinker, opted for the mildest drink in the house. The bartenderess (my own word for a girl bartender) was really nice and look really young too - like a fifteen year old girl. She recommended many drinks to us and didn't even bother asking us for ID!
