This post will be the last post for my Penang adventure and it's dedicated to one of my favourite things in life: FOOD!
Well start with the island's most famous dish. Penang Assam Laksa.
My very first laksa in Ayer Itam (near Kek Lok Si).
It's not very good though. :-(
My second bowl of laksa (after coming down from Kek Lok Si. See how greedy I am!). This one is much better than the one before.
This is Mei Fern's laksa actually. I tried one spoon.
This one was eaten at Penang Hill. Although done by a Malay lady,
it tastes more like Chinese Assam Laksa. The taste is okay only. Next... Jawa Mee. Although not my personal favourite, Penang's still famous for it and it's my mom just loves it.
Mum's Jawa mee. Don't you feel the food presentation is quite nice for a hawker stall?
Mum's Jawa mee again! Told you it's her fav.
This is mine. Jawa Char. It tastes exactly like the wet one wor.
I wonder how they do it? Eaten at BM. Ming Shiuan call for me one. Hehe.
Penang's rojak anyone? I wonder if you guys have tried eating this kind of rojak where you stand at the stall and dip the sticks of fruit into the sauce and eat! I think I've only seen this stalls at Seberang Perai. Although not very hygienic, (cos you'll be sharing your sauce with everyone else) it's so much more delicious than your normal rojak. :-)
Get what I mean now?
Step 1: Choose the fruit that you want
Step 2: Dip in to the sauce
Step 3: Makan!!!
This is more towards the normal ones we see in KL.
However, there's cuttlefish and kangkung but no keropok!Dessert anyone?
Chendol
Ais Kacang at Chowrasta. It seems to have everything ya?
BM's Ice Kacang. Although not as attractive as Chowrasta Market's.
It's still not bad and cheaper!Last but not least, the other varieties of food that Penang is well known for. I only took one picture for each of the food types because I didn't get to eat more of it. Hehe.
Carrot Cake
Seafood beside the Seaside. We had clams (lala) cook with ginger,
cheese prawns, crayfish, deep fried squid, curry fish, kangkung and claypot seafood.
Okay, Penang's not famous for coconuts but
I just put it in here cos I had it. :-P
Kuey tiow soup
Kari Mee. The special thing about Penang's Curry Noodles is
that it has piggy blood (the black jelly like thing). I totally love it!

Herbal duck noodles. It's really worth eating cos it's so nice and so much cheaper than KL.
Only RM 4 and the portion is the same! This was eaten near Kek lok si too. (VERY GREEDY!)
Fried Kuey tiow. The famous one in BM cos it's cooked by charcoal.
2 thumbs up!
Hokkien mee a.k.a prawn noodles. I don't fancy this dish but I bet some of you do!Okay, that wraps up everything. I hope you guys are not too hungry after reading this post. I'm sorry if some of the food doesn't look as attractive as it should be. This is because I forgot to take the picture of it before eating it and only remember after I started eating. Haha. I know I known I AM very tamak when it comes to food.
So, the next time you see me and you feel I gained a couple of pounds, you'll know where to put the blame on: Penang! haha.
