Cheese Cake 101
Written at Monday, December 29, 2008 | back to top

After a long break from blogging, I've finally decided to post something productive which is to teach readers how to make a cheese cake.

First, you got to have the following ingredients :

500 g of Cream Cheese
150 g of Castor Sugar
4 eggs
2 tbsp of Flour
1 Lemon
Marie Biscuits
Butter

Next, place some Marie Biscuits (approximately 20 pieces) in a large bowl or container. Smash it into fine pieces like so:

After that, add some butter into the biscuit to make them stick together to form the base. At this stage, you can add some cocoa powder, milo or any other powder flavoring inside to suit your taste buds.

The next step would be to press the base mixture into the baking pan until it becomes compact. (You must line the baking pan with 2 strips of aluminium foil in a cross pattern and also with a baking sheet before putting in the crust)

Now to prepare the cake, or should I say the upper layer of the cake... The cheese part.

Ok, you must first grate the lemon rind and squeeze roughly 1 tbsp of juice from the lemon.

Then, cream the cheese and sugar together until smooth. Add the flour and add 3 whole eggs and 1 egg yolk, one at a time into the cheese mixture.

Next, mix in the grated lemon rind and juice into the cheese mix. Continue whisking until the mixture becomes even.

Add mixture above the crust base that you've made earlier as shown below:

Then, make a water bath (which is actually placing the cake pan inside a bigger pan and fill the bigger pan with hot water).

Bake the cake at 180 degrees Celsius for conventional ovens for roughly 45-55 mins.

Let the cake cool for 30 mins after baking and refrigerate it for another 8 hours before consumption.

Finally, after a gruelling long wait, you will be able to taste the scrumptious cheese cake that you've baked!

Although it doesn't look really appetizing, it's delicious!

WARNING!!! The process above is written from my memory without referring to the actual recipe. If you really want to know actual process, give me an e-mail or something and I'll tell you. Lazy to go find the recipe ma!
