Taking a break from the holiday posts, so I'll blog about a recent activity in my daily life as a student in Sydney.
On the 30th of August, Yilyn decided to make a gathering so that all of Malaysia Hall Sydney's previous residents could come together and say bye bye to Einly. This is because Yinkia would be leaving for Spain the next day and also because Susana will be going back to Kuching for her wedding! Congrats Nana jie!
However, due to unforeseen circumstances, we could not gather everyone together. But never mind, it was still merry.
Met Susana and Yilyn right after their Sunday Church at roughly 7 p.m. and waited for the number 10 metrobus for some time before boarding the bus. We were already quite late and were the last to arrive because the bus route is quite long. We arrived at 7.40 p.m (if I'm not mistken), famished beyond our stomachs could bear.
Restaurant choice - Seoul Ria in the City
So we quickly ordered a set from the menu which was supposed to be for 7 people but ended up only catering for 4 due to Chan Kit's miscommunication. So pitiful because we (the 4 greedy people) ate first while the other 3 people had to order after our food arrive.
Collection of Banchan served during the night
I like this one most among all the banchan
Some jelly like thing that I suspect is Konyaku
Cabbage Salad

Not sure what, but I don't fancy it (very bland with a tinge of sweetness)
I nickname it baby cockroaches. Hahaha

Kimchi - a must have in every Korean restaurant

Kangkung? - supposed to be seaweed though

Fried dumpling - a good entree (but maybe it's cos I'm too hungry)

Seafood omelet - just alright, not much seafood inside

Uncooked Steam pot (seafood version)

Cooked steam pot - the soup is like kimchi base I think.
Not bad, but a bit more flavour would be better

Sweet stewed beef - I love this one,
the beef falls off the bones and is really tender
Sat at Seoul Ria for about 3 hours just chatting and catching up. Just a simple gathering I would say. Although the main purpose was to farewell Einly, as she is going back to Malaysia soon, it ended up being a gathering rather than a farewell party. All in all, a really great night out because I was sooo bored being couped up at home buried under piles and piles of reading everyday.
V.I.P and me

Bride to be and Me

Group pic - say Kimchiiiiii! (In place of cheese)
The food was so-so, some of it is nice but some not that good. Most of the dishes tasted similar to each other actually. But the staff was really friendly and really patient, given that we hung out there for more than 3 hours!
Thank you guys for finally meeting up and thanks once again Yilyn for suggesting and organizing! Hope to see you guys soon at our next gathering.
