For the first half of the day, I was busy working at Easyway, preparing and serving teas in the shop. I was planning to go back to my house to get a nice outfit for the celebration but due to the some circumstances, I just canceled the plan and went straight back to the Boronia St home.
By the time I reached home it was already 5.30 pm if I'm not mistaken and we were supposed to meet everyone at 6.30 pm. So I quickly freshened up and changed and we were off at 6 pm.
I called Zhi Bin to ask him where we are meeting up. Since it was a last minute plan, I wasn't filled in with all the details. According to the plan, we were all supposed to be at World Square by 6.30 pm. Knowing me, I always try to be punctual if not early, (although sometimes I am late for a few minutes) so we reached World Square at 6.20 pm. I called Ming Shuian this time to ask here which restaurant we are going to and to my surprise, she said she wanted to go to Madang (the famous Korean BBQ place) which will definitely be full! Hence, I opted to go to the restaurant and reserve a table so we don't need to hang out in the queue for an hour.
After waiting for a while in front of the restaurant, we finally got a hold of a table for 7 people. However, none of the other guys have arrived. So in order to avoid getting kicked out, Kuan Lung and I decided to order something for an entree which was the seafood pancake. While we were waiting for the pancake to arrive, I called Zhi Bin and luckily both Zhi Bin and Han Chow were already at World Square. They arrived just in time as the waiter (who was actually really patient) told Kuan Lung that he could not hold the table any longer as the queue was building up.
Half eaten seafood pancake - quite yummy
So we sat a while and ordered some food to avoid further embarrassment. However, by 7.30 pm, the others still haven't arrived! By this time, we were all anxious. The wait staff were all looking at us with menacing glares and we were all very uncomfortable. It turned out that the others were lost somewhere in Pitt Street and ended up late. Haha...
Right after we received our second warning from the waiter, the others arrived. That was really lucky because if not, we would definitely be asked to leave if they did not arrive in time. So after that ordeal, we had our dinner quickly and vanished from the restaurant.
The side dishes - Banchan (see, I know the name! LOL)
Another view of the Banchan

I forgot the name of this dish, but it's supposed to be eaten raw...
Even the mussels eaten raw! I couldn't stomach it... So I BBQ the mussels also! Hahaha

Sizzling pork I supposed? I forgot the name as well.. Haha
The food was alright, not really something to shout about. Maybe it was because of the stares we got from the wait staff or just the bad feeling we had for letting others wait outside for so long that made us have no appetite? Haha, who knows? (No hard feelings for those who were late that day, I don't blame you guys for being late... Just blogging bout my experience. :) )
So after dinner, we went to Sheng Yu's house to continue his birthday celebration. It was just a simple celebration, no surprises. But I guess it's enough for him because his special someone is here to celebrate with him. Hehehe...
Wendy's cookies and cream ice cream cake!
The happy couple.

Making a wish and blowing out the candles.

After the candle blowing and birthday song singing ritual, we had a little chit chat session up till around 10 pm. The party ended earlier than expected because Sheng Yu's other housemates were still in exam mode and we didn't want to disturb them too much.
So, Happy Birthday Sheng Yu! Hope you had fun that day even though it was just a very simple and small celebration!
