Believe it or not, 2 years in Sydney and I've only been to Eastgardens for roughly 5 times? Haha, I know, some of you Sydney-siders practically live there (students living in Kingsford especially). Oh well, busy busy that's the excuse.
So during the holidays, I decided to just go visit this "foreign" place with Kuan Lung. Just to let him taste what a shopping centre looks like in Sydney.
Caught the bus from home to uni and took the 400 to Eastgardens. Mind you, I was using a weekly travel pass so I needed to exploit it to the fullest.. Just take the bus whenever and wherever I can.
In the 400, the old one
See how reluctant he is to take pic
See.. I wanna take pic with him also,
he don't co-operate.
By the time we reached Eastgardens, it was already nearly 4 o'clock I think (correct me If I'm wrong, as you know, my memory is very bad right dear? hehe). So just shopped around Eastgardens for a while.
First stop: K-mart... Didn't do much there cos there was nothing much to see in K-mart anyway. However, something weird happened... I had my shopping bags with me (those reusable ones - I'm very environmental friendly... :P) and each time I passed the two tiang thing that detects if I stolen something, the alarm goes off! So weird cos there's nothing in the bag and embarrassing too!
In no chronological sequence, we went and had Wendy's soft serve ice cream as I've read (in my accounting text book, believe it or not) that it was their signature ice cream and it was what made them famous during their establishment. Disappointingly, it was nothing special and really small for a $3.30 ice cream... Blah... all these so called famous food don't really live up to their name.
We also had Easyway and I wanted to try something called "mango custard" because it's not served at my shop and the customers that come in seemed really disappointed when I say we don't sell it. It was really good.. Had the drink with pearls and it was delicious! For someone who don't really like mangoes, I find this drink very dessert-like and somewhat like pudding. Hehe, highly recommended if you guys want to have a different Easyway drink - other than the teas of course.
I also bought a Vienna sourdough bread from Baker's delight as Kuan Lung loves bread and I wanted him to try something famous. Again, the bread is disappointing cos I think we Malaysians picture bread as soft, white and fluffy not hard, chewey and stone-like. Oh well, try new things ma!
So after some time of walking around the shopping complex and going into different shops, we just decided to head home as everything was closing already.. We did stop by Woolworths and Coles to get groceries and compare prices. (I know, very kiam-siap.. Sanggup walk up and down the shopping complex to grab the best deal. Hahaha)
At the clock structure finishing up the mango custard
Something called Nooki. He finds it cute.. Hehehe
