Happy birthday!
Written at Friday, November 21, 2008 | back to top

Thank you for those who celebrated my birthday with me in Sydney, Singapore and Malaysia. And a big thanks for those who wished me too! So happy that you guys remember me and also my birthday.

The first birthday celebration took place at Yin Kia's house in Doncaster Avenue on the 8th of November 2008. It was to celebrate all "November babies" birthdays that's why we did it at Yin Kia's house because her birthday is in November too! Thanks Yin Kia for organizing the whole thing.

We had a cheese cake, half a chocolate cake and also 4 cupcakes as our birthday cake and many other Malaysian Hall residents and other friends came to celebrate with us. As Yin Kia and Seh Chun (Yin Kia's boyfriend) were vegetarian, the menu for the day was vegetarian. I personally like Yin Kia's fried bee hoon. :-)

The next celebration took place 2 days before my departure to Malaysia and also 3 days before my real birthday. It was on the 16th of November, a Sunday. The plan was actually to meet Ming Shiuan for lunch as a pre departure meeting. Haha, sounds like some kind of formal meeting thing. But in the end, Ming Shiuan, Han Chow and Sheng Yu decided to spring the idea of lunch followed by KTV to celebrate Zhi Bin's and my birthday.

Because of the last minute decision, we were a bit unsure of where to eat. In the end, we ate at somewhere called crocodile senior Thai and I had the spiciest curry I had ever eaten in Sydney called "Jungle curry".

After lunch, we headed to the KTV (Green Box as in the same one in Malaysia). The Green Box there is not as geng as the one in Malaysia, they disallow food and drinks to be brought into the karaoke room and also the song selection process was mind boggling. Not much songs to choose from. However, the price is quite cheap, around AUD 7 per 2 hours (don't convert la of course).

So we sang and laughed and managed to cut the cake and ate secretly behind the KTV staff's back. It was a blast but we couldn't light up the candles as it might trigger the smoke alarm.

After KTV and lunch, I had to rush back home to meet up with my housemates as we wanted to have a night out together at pancakes on the rocks. We left at 6 p.m. (I reached home around 5.15 p.m.) and took a bus to Circular Quay.

Then we met Rong (ex-housemate) at Pancakes and we had some pork ribs and 2 delicious pancakes and 1 crepe. All in all, it's really famous for some reason. The pancakes are so rich and really filling. We were stuffed after dinner.

Although it is not a birthday celebration for me, but I assume that it is. hahahaha. Well, just include it inside la.

Well, these are the celebrations which took place in Sydney before my departure. Thank you everyone who made my (early) birthday so special! I really really appreciate it from the bottom of my heart. THANK YOU!

Next birthday celebration took place on my real birthday (19th of November) in Singapore. I departed Sydney on the 18th of November and reached Singapore at 9.55 p.m. Singapore time.

Kuan Lung and I went to Vivo City to celebrate my birthday and we did the things we loved the most which is eating! haha. We had so much food on that day, starting with porridge at the local hawker stall for breakfast, moving on to bread talk for a piece of birthday cake. Then Secret Recipe (yes there's secret recipe in Singapore) for lunch where I had beef bistro and Ben & Jerry's for and ice cream desert. Later at night, we had KFC at 11 p.m. for dinner cos we were too full to eat before that and also very exhausted.

All in all, the day was fabulous and I was very very happy. Arigatou to my dear! hehe. Love you so much. Thank you for such a wonderful day.

Birthday celebration with family was a simple dinner at a Chinese restaurant nearby my house. We had crabs, escargot (some kind of sea snail), cockles and lots more. Too full after eating so much of food. Hehe, good food and good company is what it takes for a great birthday celebration.

Well, so many thanks already.... so better stop now before you guys see another "Thank You" word again and start vomiting. Till next time!
